    Dinky Ducks Day Care, established in 2004, is part of the Oaktree Family Group. It is a fun, safe and welcoming environment, providing a high standard of care and learning for each child through secure relationships with experienced caring practitioners who work in partnership with parents.

    We recognise that each child is different with his/her own interests, abilities and developing view of the world. We work in partnership with parents and carers to develop the best programme of learning and support to benefit each child’s overall development.

    We are highly experienced in working in partnership with parents especially armed forces families. We also pride ourselves on being flexible to support each individual families needs, respecting the many different forms of family life that children may experience as well as their social and cultural backgrounds.

  • All practitioners consider the individual needs, interests and stage of development of each child in their care. They use this to plan challenging and enjoyable experiences for each child in all their areas of learning.

  • Prime areas of learning
    • Communication and Language Development - giving children opportunities to experiences a rich language environment.
    • Physical Development - providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive and develop their co-ordination control and movement.
    • Personal Social Emotional Development - helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves and others to form positive relationships.

    • Literacy Development - encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write.
    • Mathematic Development - providing children with opportunities to develop their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers and describing shape, space and measures
    • Understanding the World - guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community
    • Expressive Arts and Design - enabling children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials.
